I love Twitter, but some things really do need more than 140 characters to say! This is certainly one.
My lovely wife Hannah and I are absolutely thrilled to announce that we are expecting another baby this September (2016). The scan above was taken last week (12 weeks) and we are very excited to share our news. We have given our little one the ‘in the womb’ name JesseJoy (JJ for short); Jesse means ‘gift’ and Joy (as you might guess) means Joy! They are excitedly waving 🙂
JJ is especially precious to us as our first child, Lovelet, went to be with Jesus just 7 weeks into our pregnancy (17th July last year). Lovelet would have been born this Thursday (3rd March) so our joy in sharing this great news is mixed with sadness.
However our faith has been strengthened over this last year and God has been very good. We have been blessed to know His comfort and his strengthening particularly through the bible. The following passage has been particularly encouraging (and challenging) through some very difficult times.
17 Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The Lord God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.
To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments.
Habbakkuk 3:17-19 (NKJV)
